BRIGITTE SCHUH AMPEL

Hey Guys!
How have you been?
I've been a little busy lately. School.. you know how it is.
Anyway, remember how I was in Hamburg for a day for the Brigitte Magazine shooting? It was for two projects. One of which was the Schuh Ampel and the other was an editorial.
The Schuh Ampel has been published now! Plus I was featured on their Style Notes Blog, which you can read here. It's a little interview.
Of course I'll share the pictures of the editorial with you once they are up. I'm a little excited to see the results.. All I know are the memories of a great day attached to them.

LADY GAGA FAME PERFUME REVIEW

If I may be very honest, I was expecting something.. you know.. gaga.
Something very odd, very peculiar, like the scent of blood or something creepy like that. I mean come on! If you ask a woman that goes to the VMAs covered in nothing but meat to design her very own perfume, what would you expect her creation to smell like?
A woman that is not afraid to live art, to be art, to be different.
A woman that does not care the least bit of what others are going think.
Honestly I was expecting the scent to be so horrid that I would want to toss at the back of my room, but because I fell in love with the look of the flacon, it would have won a secured spot on my display.

THESE WERE MY SUMMER ESSENTIALS

I think today was the last day of summer. It was a hot day, 22°C. After being tortured over the tracking field for twelve minutes (Damn you Cooper! Damn you Cooper Test!) I enjoyed the day sunbathing on my balcony, sucking up all the natural vitamin D from what were probably the last summer sun rays.
Someone asked me to blog about my summer essentials.
Here is what I think.

PREMIUM WINDOW DRESSER AWARD 2012

A few weeks ago I attended the Premium Window Dresser Award 2012, which was more of a small gathering on nice afternoon. I enjoyed Hagen Däsz ice cream with a chat with some of my friends who were present as well. Putting my vote on a paper, I left early since, apart from having a quick glance at the nominees' decorated windows, it was not that interesting.
You can vote as well and find out more about the Award here.
The actual ceremony will take place sometime in January once the winner is found, but as of now it's open for votes. I'm curious to see who gets to take the award home and who will decorate the windows of Galerie Lafayette during the next Berlin Fashion Week..

VOGUE FASHION NIGHT OUT '12

PATRIZIA PEPE OPENING

Patrizia Pepe (she was present herself!) opened a beautiful new boutique on the Kudamm perfectly timed for the Vogue Fashion Night Out. I enjoyed music by a live DJ, the company of Susa, Carina and my friend Louisa, delicious chocolate coated strawberries and met Yvan aka Facehunter again, (he was in town especially for the event) whom I'd met before at Bonnie Strange's Shit Shop Party (still have to tell you about it!). It was a lovely evening, but I'll let the pictures speak for themselves..

STELLA AND DOT

Wednesday night I visited the Stella and Dot event held at the Ellington Hotel. It felt a lot like an art exhibition. Not only because of the paintings on the white walls, the walking waiter serving champagne on a tray or the fine dressed ladies, but also because of Stella&dot's jewelry and the way it was exhibited, which indeed looked like a piece of art. I'm head over heels with the jewelry, especially those statement necklaces.
I'm a sucker for statement necklaces..

January 24, 2011 - THE First Outfit Post

COTTON CANDY

Hey guys!
Here is my latest look :) I've finally worn my mint/pastel shaded jeans out, a pair I bought at H&M while ago. I gotta admit, I was caught by the pastel (jeans) trend and couldn't resist jumping on the trend wagon and purchasing my first pair of jeans as soon as I laid my hands on them. Which is a bit strange because I'm not exactly the person to follow trends. I'm not a "fashion victim" who conforms and follows each and everyone of them. I use them more as a source of inspiration, a certain idea I might give a thought to and try out sometime - when I feel like it.
In fact usually by the time I'm developing a liking for a certain trend and starting my first attempts at my very own interpretation, it's always "so last season".
You can't label me as a person slow on trends because I acknowledge them long before Vogue or Elle declares them so. I'm kidding!
What I'm trying to say is that I do have a feel for whats "in" and "so hot atm". It's just that I'm not exactly bothered or phased, unless it really captivates me..

BARGAIN HUNTING WITH CHEAPERIA

When I heard about Patricia's "Schnäppchen Freitag (=Bargain Friday)" really wanted to participate, especially because you know I'm a Bargain Hunter of the most vicious type. Which reminds me - oh yeah I have a shit load amount of clothes to show you I bought during sale the last few months. But we'll come to that later. Plus Schnäppchen Friday sounded lots of fun. Besides the fact that I got infected and highly tempted to hit all the items and more into my shopping basket, I managed to keep focused and choose the 15 most bargainius pieces for 15€ and under! Go check it out. You might get tempted to shop them all..

Beware. Don't say I didn't warn ya!

Todays post is only gonna be in German, because I'd like to introduce you guys to a WebTV show I just discovered and unfortunately it's completly in German :(( You are definitely missing out on something here :P

Palina, die mir ganz kurz beim Sminorff Event und dann auch wieder bei der H&M The Girl with the Tattoo Dragon Kollektions-Preview begegnete, kam mir sofort sehr sympatisch vor. Aber was mir sofort ins Auge sprang, war ihr witziger Style. Ansonsten kennt man sie aus dem Fernsehen. Ich glaube MTV Home. Diesen Sommer hat sich Palina mit dem Two for Fashion Blog von Otto zusammen getan, um eine eigene Webshow namens Two for Fashion TV zu moderieren. Kann ja nur gut gehen!

Alle zwei Wochen darf man sich auf meine neue Folge mit Interviews mit besonderen Gästen freuen, u.a. Jorge Gonzales (Chica walk baby!!). Jede Folge widmet sich einem neuen Thema, sei es eine bestimmte Mode- oder Stilrichtung, vom perfekten Party-Outfit oder die neuesten Festival Looks dieser Saison. Oder doch lieber Palina beim Samba tanzen.. (Spoiler Alert!)

Thuy vom Two for Fashion Blog ist selbst hin und wieder Gast der Show, während Kathrin aus NY, wie auch schon auf dem Blog, ihre Beiträge zur Show leistet. Mal erzählt sie uns von den hippsten Bars, den angesagtesten Clubs, den besten Rooftop Bars New Yorks - also richtige Hotspots der Szene! - oder fragt direkt Besucher eines Festivals nach ihren Festival Must-haves. In der Show darf man sich nicht nur auf modische und Shopping Tipps freuen, sondern auch auf Hotspots und "places to be"(d.h. besten Festivlas Europas, angesagten Bars oder auch der coolste Club Berlins)
Two for Fashion TV ist also auch sehr vielfältig.
Die erste Staffel hat 12 Folgen, davon sind wir schon bei der 5. angelangt. Und wenn es so weiter geht, wird man sich wahrscheinlich auch auf eine weitere freuen dürfen.
Und zum Schluss wird auch jedes Mal etwas verlost. Diese Woche gibt es eine neue Stereo Anlange von Philips zu gewinnen. (Drückt mir die Daumen, ich will sie haben!) Also man darf gespannt sein.

Ich selber habe mir eine Folge angesehen und fand sie eigentlich ganz toll, sodass ich neugierig war, noch eine mit einem anderem Thema ansehen zu wollen. Die Folge mit zum Thema Festival fand ich besonders gelungen, da es nicht nur Tipps zur Mode gab, aber auch neben dem Melt interessante Festivals in Europa vorgestellt wurden. Bei Two for Fashion TV von Otto kann man auf jeden Fall einmal vorbei geschauen! Ich weiß auch nicht, warum ich bis zur 5. Folge noch nichts von dieser Show wusste...
Jetzt könnt ihr euch noch Folge 5 anschauen und mal in der Show reinschnuppern. Keine Angst, die Folgen hängen nicht von einander ab. Ich hab auch erst bei 5 reingeschaltet und rückwärts geguckt.^^
Wie findet ihr die Show? Ich find Palina irgendwie klasse.

BACK TO SCHOOL

It doesn't really sink in that summer is over until you hear your alarm going off at full blast 6.30 in the morning for the first time - after what? - 6 weeks. Especially when summer hasn't been, like an event or experience you can come to terms with that indeed it's over and leaves you with mere memories - sweet memories, but has been the simple art of faulenzen and chilaxen all day, everyday, waking up when you feel like it or not. This summer has been so different to all. I didn't travel. But I did have some occasional 3 to 4 day trips to random cities in Germany which came and went.
Nonetheless I enjoyed the time, especially the trip with my friends. But what bugs me is this was my last summer as in summer holidays. When I finish school this term, there will be no going back to school and therefore no summer holidays in that sense. I always thought that my last holidays would be something like "an unforgettable summer"; holidays á la "the summer of your lives".
This holidays kind of shattered that illusion for me. I should have seen it coming though, I mean I didn't have anything planed for the hols. But I'm ready for school. Ready to take this hell hole one last term and come out a young woman ready to take the world.
I think...

As of the first day? It was a total waste of time, AS F*CKING USUAL. Yeehaa let's go Schiller. Gosh I really don't like my school. It's such a school-enthusiasm killer.. 
First day of school is only good for seeing all the faces I missed during summer again :)

A DAY WITH ZANOX

Zanox invited me to one of the best events I've been to so far. And guys, you know I've been luckily enough to have been to many. It all started in the morning at the Zanox Headquarters, where we were invited to a day filled with workshops, lovely people, talks and yummy food.
When I first stepped into the blogging world not thinking much of it, I quickly learned this was a huge world with so much to still learn about it. But I felt I was getting the hang of it.
That day, right there and then, listening the talks about SEO and monetising Blogs in the workshops Zanox offered, I realized I know nothing at all.
Zanox organised workshops for us bloggers, as well as a talk with the emerging Designer Damian Hirschberg, who talked about the importance of bloggers for designers from his perspective and gave us the chance to peek behind a photo shoot.

My best friend is turning 18 tomorrow and for that occassion my girls and I are getting away, away out of town, for the weekend.

MBFW BERLIN SS'13: DAY 1

Day one was the busiest of all for me and probably the most exciting. What started out as a half day packed schedule for me turned into a fulltime fashion show filled day in matter of seconds starting 10 o'clock sharp to 8pm. Day one held some of the most interesting names, shows that filled me with expectations and I was not let down. On the contrary I was amazed.
As usual I was running late and luckily bumped into Jana and Sabrina. I had no idea where to go and seeing them take the lead, I followed. And we got lost. xD But cheers to the "let's go missing and trolling around town in search for the freaking fashion week tent" girls!

PRIMARK OPENING

Before I go all fashion week on you, I want to tell you about the Primark opening. Primark finally open its doors to a two story center full of shopping. Along with other bloggers and Primark representatives as well as press, I was invited for the Pre-opening, which meant I was allowed early admission, treated to a breakfast, listened to a speech by the founder of Primark (Kudos to her German skills!) and given a tour of the store, before the official opening at 11. o'clock.
With the 50€ gift voucher I found in my goodie bag I went shop shop shopping! There was no turning back at that point. Haha!
It was nice to see a million familiar blogger faces and the Grayling Team was so kind as usual.

As you may have seen on my Facebook page, I signed up for the gym. I'm officially enrolled at Superfit and I'm super excited and highly motivated for my new sporty lifestyle. (Hello bikini body!) Okay to be honest I only signed up because of Yoga and Pilates classes.

But since I'm already there, I might as well do some real workout.. right? :)
I got a little taste of it as I accompanied my neighbour (the coolest neighbour ever) to gym last night. Btw late night gym session are awesome. There is no freaking pumped up ass there and it's like you've got the gym all to yourself.

My first day starts 18th June. Letsss go go go!

This picture of Charlotte and me was taking at the Y/O/U Label release party that took place on Friday. We didn't stay long, instead met up with a friend and went to a bar. To be honest, all you need for a good time are some friends and drinks that taste of Gesichtswasser. A little insider ;)

As far as for the rest of my weekend? Shopped with Paula. I went for a midnight gym session. Visited the Designer Outlet Center Berlin for the first time. Now I'm chilling big time on my bed and watching the sky turn to night...
