NO G-STAR THIS SEASON...

At first I thought I wasn't cool enough anymore and G-Star was trying to channel their inner most "You can't sit with us (anymore)"-attitude. But I never really believed this was the case because G-Star and me we go waaay back. Hello?! Rollin' togethaaa like since July 2011 yabish! See how I say G-Star instead of G-Star Raw? It's like you saying Kanye West but I can say Kanye. Or like you say Mrs. Jackson but I say Shaniqua. We're so cool we use first names.
Plus the G-Star shows + event and party have been my personal highlight since loosing my V-Card to Fashion Week and it's my seasonal meeting spot with my dutch babe Chloe Sterk.

ALMOST FASHION WEEK...

I really thought this season was going to be very relaxed. Maybe a hand full of shows and an event here or there. I received some big invites very early and then it was all very dragging until the last couple of days. Drafting my plan today made me release my schedule is pretty full. And I have to rely on on-point-on-time shuttle service between a few of them. Ugh..
Of course I'm confronted with the usual "no clothes to wear" fiasco so I'm starting to go through my closet tonight and arrange my room. Luckily I still have the Forever21 gift I card I got for X-Mas. So I'll check if I can find some pieces there..

Hopefully I'll be grabbing some lunch or dinner with Anna and Valerie, finally meeting Larissa, a reunion with Fiorella who I met at the Stylight Shooting, have my seasonal reunion with my babe Chloe who is from Amsterdam and of course finally meeting Chiara, Kenza and some of my favourite Bloggers in person. I'm really looking forward to getting to know new faces.

What I'm looking forward to the most is the Bread&Butter. Get a real bite of it all and more than just the taste I get when running through the entire compound just to make it to G-Star Shows on time.

Gotta admit, I'm not exactly feeling Fashion Week right now. There's little excitement, but I know for sure this will all change as Monday breaks dawn. Probably because I'm a little stressed and my safeguard mechanism is to chill like nothing is happening and become completely unfazed.
I'm waiting for Monday. Let the fashion week magic, the frenzy, the madness sweep me of my feet..

MBFW: THE SHIT SHOP SHOW WITH MY WINNERS

Last year's Shit Shop Show was THE SHIT! This year's Shit Shop show didn't fail to entertain and live up to its expectations. Models dressed in the fanciest most STRANGE clothes walked the catwalk to the sickest old school Hip Hop beats (Bonnie definitely has good taste in music!! And thank you for the even sicker tunes at the Aftershow party!) and I got to meet and take along two of my readers to fashion week.

And when I thought Day 1 was going to be my busiest, I was mistaken. I didn't see many shows that day (missed 1 or 2 because of my full schedule), but had lots of events to attend and places to be at the same time. Fashion Week Day 2 in it's full blast!

MBFW BERLIN FASHION WEEK: DAY 1

Twice a year there is this week that revolves solely around fashion. And it's called fashion week. 4 wonderful hectic days filled with nothing but shows, presentations, openings, cocktail receptions, launches and parties all in the name of fashion. This season was yet again pretty crazy for me.
Day 1. Here we go!

PRE FASHION WEEK: MY LOOK

So how do you dress for a perfume launch, a fashion show and a pool party at once, without bringing along a whole new second outfit to change into? Well this is what I wore to the Diesel Lover Dose Tattoo Launch, the Starbucks Discoveries presents Alice M. Huynh event (read about it here) and the Dandy Diary Fashion Week Pool Party kick off Party.
In the end I didn't go to the Dandy Diary Fashion Week kick off pool party... I could have worn just a normal outfit. Oh well.. At least my bikini top came in handy for mother nature's rain party. I was beaten by the rain and it felt like a taste of Dandy Diary's Pool Party right there in the streets of Berlin.

PRE FASHION WEEK: STARBUCKS DISCOVERIES PRESENTS ALICE M. HUYNH

When I received my invitation for the Starbucks Discoveries Show and saw the nominees I accepted the invite knowing I was going to Alice's Fashion Show.
My confidence did not let me down, Alice did win and received the chance to present her designs, a mini collection, at the new Starbucks at the Sony Center as a Berlin Fashion Week Pre Fashion Week event hosted by Bonnie Strange. I couldn't help but feel over joyous for her and in a way a bit proud that she had made it.
I remember looking up to Alice, reading her blog, too shy to ask her to explain how fashion week works to me. In the end I summed up all my courage and penned down my questions. I was surprised at the immediate response answering all my questions and how kind she was.
And just last week, here she was, having her very own Fashion show.

I want to stop by Esprit in hope to find the pink bikini that I've shown you on the blog before. It would be so cute to wear to the Dandy Diary Fashion Week opening Pool Party tonight. I've been checking the Esprit Onlineshop but didn't find it there yet, so I guess I have to stop by.

My schedule is packed! But I'm ready for one more week of fashion week frenzy. I'll have so much to see, so many parties, presentations, shows, events and brunches!

PRE FASHION WEEK SHOW: KAUFFELD & JAHN COUTURE

Fashion Week for me started with a usual pre-fashion week event: this time I received an invitation to the Kauffeld & Jahn Couture show that took place at the nHow Hotel Berlin.

Fashion Week is over. I enjoyed 4 (5 actually..) really great days with amazing shows, nice after show parties and events, catching up with my amazing people and meeting new ones of course. Can't wait to show you the pictures from all my days and the shows. Can't wait to share the experience with you. But for now, here is a little impression of what my days were like.

PS.: I uploaded the pictures from my phone to my computer.  My iPhone wouldn't let me upload the pictures to my instagram account because of internet problems I have been facing the last couple of weeks. Though as soon as my phone reconnects by itself they'll upload automatically. So don't be confused!

Anyway fashion week is over. Was a great week and I enjoyed it a lot.

OH-EM-GEE IT'S FASHION WEEK!!

It's probably gonna be the most exciting week for me. I feel like I'm a superagent leading a double life or something. You know: Student by day - Fashionista by night.

I'm kidding.


...Okay that's exactly how I feel. xD

I decided that this season I will only be visiting fashion week part time and the other time I will be a student extra ordinnaire and visit all my classes like a good student is supposed. Not gonna give you the whole school is important talk, but you know, it's important :) And it's my final year. So it's a pretty big deal.

My schedule is crazy this year! So many off site events and parties. So much to coordinate. Unfortunately I won't be going to everything, I've selected a few things I want to see and check out, yet I still feels like a lot. Especially with school in the morning.
I'm looking forward to the G-Star Raw show, Dimitri and Dawid Tomaszweski.

I went shopping today and bought a few pieces I'm gonna wear during fashion week.
It's not like a don't have shitload amounts of clothes. (Actually I don't. But it's not like a have to run around naked..) Suddenly everything seems inadequate and the only thing satisfying my unrest is the thought of new pieces. Thank God it's sale season, otherwise this would have turned out a little costly.

Guess what? I've already been to a pre fashion week fashion show last night! Fashion week has begun!!

Now I'm getting ready for fashion week - last minute preparations, off to classes and then to the official tent for the first time this season! Here we go...

MBFW BERLIN SS'13: DAY 1

Day one was the busiest of all for me and probably the most exciting. What started out as a half day packed schedule for me turned into a fulltime fashion show filled day in matter of seconds starting 10 o'clock sharp to 8pm. Day one held some of the most interesting names, shows that filled me with expectations and I was not let down. On the contrary I was amazed.
As usual I was running late and luckily bumped into Jana and Sabrina. I had no idea where to go and seeing them take the lead, I followed. And we got lost. xD But cheers to the "let's go missing and trolling around town in search for the freaking fashion week tent" girls!

OUTFIT: BREAD & BUTTER BERLIN 2012

During Fashion Week I found a free minute to check out the Bread&Butter fashion fair. I was really looking forward to come by since the last last visit (read: running through the entire place in search for the G-Star booth for the G-Star Show in attendance of sweet Clemence Poesy and running back out to catch my ride to be escorted back to the fashion week tent for another show) left quite an impression. I went together with Carina and Nisi, who was kind enough to capture my look of the day for me.
The Bread & Butter is a enormous fair with brands like G-Star, Mavi, Desigual, Adidas, Onepiece etc. being represented. It's a street style denim trade show and you must definitely come with loads of time on your hands to check out the fair.

FASHION WEEK IS ARRIVING

Next week is Berlin Fashion Week!!!
I've been having invitations flying in through my mail and inbox over the past few weeks. Some same shows, some new shows, interesting parties (so looking forward to those!) and showrooms.

And I'm already excited :)

OUR VERY OWN FASHION WEEK OPENING PARTY

I could have gone to the Bread and Butter Opening Party everybody seemed to praise and worship the next day. (If I had picked up my pass in the morning, that is... :P). We could have waited in the queue for hours freezing just to be able to join next morning's gossip about how amazing the LesMads x DandyDiary party was.
But we didn't. Instead we found a little bar/pub tucked somewhere in the streets of Berlin near Hackescher Markt.
And you know what?
With the right people it's always a party. And a good one that is ;)

Ich hätte zur Bread and Butter Opening Party gehen können, die alle am nächsten Tag so loben. (Hätte ich meinen Pass am Morgen abgeholt.. :P). Wir hätten stundenlang in der Schlange warten können, nur um am nächsten Morgen mitreden zu können, wie toll doch die LesMads x DandyDiary Party war.
Haben wir aber nicht. Stattdessen suchten wir uns eine kleine Bar/Pub irgendwo in den Straßen Berlins nahe Hackescher Markt.
Und wisst ihr was?
Mit den richtigen Leuten ist es immer eine (gute) Party. ;)

BLEND AND ICHI SHOWS AND FQ1924 LAUNCH

This presentation by the three danish labels Blend, Ichi and FQ1924 was different from most shows, because it wasn't only a fashion show, but studio too. You had the chance to get a closer look at the pieces from Blend, Ichi and FQ1924 before and after the actual runway show, as they were exhibited in the lobby.
The event took place at the Ellington Hotel.

Anders als die meisten Shows war diese Presentation der drei dänischen Labels Blend, Ichi und FQ1924. Denn diese Presentation war nicht nur Fashion Show sondern auch Studio zu gleich. Man konnte sich die Mode von Blend, Ichi und FQ1924 vor und nach der Show genauer anschauen, da diese im Saal ausgestellt wurde.
Das ganze fand im des Saal des Hotel Ellington statt.
